Content Ownership & Rights

    Last updated: January 2025

Simply put: You own everything you create in Wall Journal. We don't.

    Your Content

All journal entries, photos, notes, and other content you create belong entirely to you. Wall Journal claims no ownership, license, or rights to your personal content beyond what's necessary to provide the service.

    What We Need to Operate

To display your content back to you and store it securely, we need a limited technical license. This means:

    • We can store and back up your content on our servers.
    • We can display your content to you across your devices.
    • We can process your content to provide features you use (e.g., search, export).

This license is solely for operating the service. We don't use your content for any other purpose.

    What We Will Never Do

    • Sell or license your content to third parties.
    • Use your content for advertising or marketing.
    • Train AI or machine learning models on your content.
    • Share your content publicly or with other users.
    • Access your content except for technical support you request.

    Your Rights

    • Export: Download your complete journal at any time in standard formats.
    • Delete: Permanently remove any or all content whenever you choose.
    • Portability: Take your data with you if you leave.

    Wall Journal's Content

The Wall Journal application, design, branding, and documentation are owned by Wall Journal. Your subscription gives you personal use of the service but not rights to our intellectual property.

    If You Leave

When you delete your account, we remove your content from our systems within 30 days. We recommend exporting your data before deletion. Once deleted, content cannot be recovered.
